About Us

Department of Hospital Dentistry

Description:

The Dept. of Dentistry of PGH started as a dental infirmary for the City of Manila on August 13, 1912, two years after PGH was founded. The infirmary also served as the clinical section of the dental department where patients are treated by the students.

Over the years, the dental department started an emergency dental clinic at the emergency room complex to attend to all emergency dental problems. This was the first time the country had a 24 hour dental service training around 5-10 patients in one night. The department has indeed gone a long way. It now has its own operating room schedule on Mondays at the Central block and on Thursday at the new OPD building.

We await more milestones in the dental profession with the Department of Dentistry in the forefront of excellent dental care in the country.
