Department of Anesthesiology

General Summary

The department continues to strengthen and enhance the research program. The Annual Interesting Case Presentation and Research Forum were held during the year.

In addition, a lecture on research preparation was conducted by the department research coordinator, Dr. Ma. Concepcion Cruz. A statistician was also engaged to aid in the technical/statistical aspects of the resident’s researches.

Greater demand on service limits the research activities of the residents. Thus, the research committee started a group instead of individual researches for this year to assure timely research output.

Faculty members of the department were encouraged to participate in the hospital research activities. One of the department faculty members, Dr. Grace G. Catalan is part of the Ethical Review Board of the Philippine General Hospital.
