General Summary

The year 2008 was a banner year for the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciencesin the field of research due to the many awards garnered by the Department. The research program of the Department culminated in the Senior Residents Research Paper Contest (November 11 & 13, 2008). The papers of the senior residents were included in the Annual Residents Research Paper and Poster Contest of the Philippine General Hospital (November 18, 2008) and in the 22^nd Annual Residents Research Paper Contest of the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology (November 26, 2008). The Department, in cooperation with the Expanded Hospital Research Office (EHRO) played host to the PGH Annual Residents Research Forum last November 18, 2008 as part of the celebration of the annual PGH Research Week.
